Projects for retrofitting vessels with structural fire protection

In accordance with the requirements of the RRR and the technical regulations “On the safety of inland water transport facilities”, OAO “ECS” is developing projects for retrofitting ships in operation with structural fire protection (SFP), aimed at:

•    preventing fire hazards;
•    limiting the spread of fire and smoke throughout the ship;
•    delaying the loss of structural strength when exposed to fire and high temperatures;
•    creating conditions for the safe evacuation of people from ship premises and from the ship, as well as for fire extinguishing.

As an example:

•    project for retrofitting the vessel Peterhof, project 301, with structural fire protection, which provides for the performance of work during the repair of the vessel.

When repairing the vessel, it is expected to replace in the superstructure:

•    finishing and structure of cabins;
•    install Category A fire bulkheads with Category A fire doors in the stern on the upper and boat decks;
•    install self-closing, fire-retardant, roller doors in the corridors for the evacuation of passengers;
•    remodel cabins and individual rooms;
•    displace individual pillars and install them in new places;
•    install sliding doors in the superstructure on the upper and boat decks for passengers to exit the cabins onto the balcony, welding the existing window openings;
•    install new furniture in the cabins;
•    install enclosures for ladders passing through one deck. Install appropriate doors in the enclosures;
•    install a passenger elevator;
•    develop a scheme for dividing the vessel into fire zones.
