Purpose:  
carrying out work to clean up oil spills, including in winter;  
carrying out icebreaking work to prevent ice jams on the Neva River;  
destruction and elimination of ice formations at places where water is taken from the Neva River;  
laying channels for emergency ice passage of ships after navigation is closed;  
extinguishing fires (including on high-sided vessels);  
escorting ships;  
towing of ships, including oil tankers;  
participation in rescue (drainage) operations.
