Project 342 refrigerators are designed for operation on the Lena in a wide range of depths, as well as for loading and unloading near an unequipped shore.
The vessels are similar to the Project 326 and Project 037 vessels in many design details, but they provide for operation with a much smaller draft, have reduced engine power, a superstructure in the bow, are equipped with two refrigeration units and two cranes.
Vessels are equipped with four holds with hatch covers.
The dimensions of the covers are 6,3x8,4. The total volume of cargo holds is 1020 cubic meters.
